Like you, I’ve chosen this place as the perfect place to start and raise my family. I met my husband at the Treasure Coast Mall when I was just a teenybopper, and I grew up here long before it was the thriving metropolis we call the City of Port St. Lucie. This community helped my husband and I raise two beautiful children, and I am grateful for the care and kindness and drive to serve it has instilled in them. My son is about to enter the Air Force because he has a passion to serve the community and indeed, the entire country. Like him, I want to be of service to the community, which has given so much to us.
If you entrust me to continue serving you, I want you to know that you have my full commitment. During my first term as your City Council representative, I continued to work part-time as a hair stylist, a humble position, I know, but one I have loved and have treasured because it allowed me to provide for my family, while still giving me a chance to be there when my children came home from school. Now that my children are more independent, I can exit my part-time position and focus all of my energy on Port St. Lucie and helping to improve our fair city.
Since being given the opportunity to serve my community in this capacity, I have learned so much. I have learned that, just like in every family, there are moments when you don’t get along, moments when you have to choose your battles, and moments when you have to let it go and compromise for the greater good of the family. One of the things we all love about Port St. Lucie is that it is truly one big family. We laugh and love, bicker and make up, but we always have one another’s back, and at the end of the day, we all stay here because of a strong sense of love and loyalty.
With your help, I’d like to continue to listen to you, to advocate for you, and to serve you and your family in our community. I appreciate the powerful and wise women whose footsteps I walked in, and I am grateful for the opportunities I have experienced on this journey. I love to help solve problems and make this community a better place for us all. It is an honor and privilege to serve you, my family.
